Afterward Jim walked down the stairs with Bill Siddon’s pretty blond girlfriend, Cherie. “He said to me, ‘Well, I made it to twenty-five. Do you think I’ll make it to thirty?’ And we both knew he wouldn’t make it to thirty.”
